Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be greeted by a safari representative and transferred to your hotel in the city. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps exploring some of Kigali’s sights, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a poignant reminder of the country’s history.

Travel north to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The drive offers picturesque views of Rwanda’s hills and valleys. Check into your lodge near the park and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. In the afternoon, you can choose to relax or take part in optional activities like visiting the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera.

The highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After a briefing from the park rangers, embark on a trek through the rainforest to find one of the gorilla families. Spend an hour with the gorillas, observing their behaviours and interactions in their natural environment. This is an extraordinary wildlife experience, offering an up-close view of these gentle giants. Return to your lodge for the evening.

After breakfast, drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, there might be time for a city tour or to visit the local markets for souvenirs. Conclude your journey with a transfer to the airport for your departure.
